The Flower Castle

by Mary E. Lowd

Lost among the flowers
—large as clouds, puffy & high
Up in the sky—
A castle grows
Minuscule, diminutive
Perfect for elven beings
Who keep their court
In secret, well below the notice
Of any giants
Who don’t watch carefully
Where they place their feet
Among the carefree, pretty, wild weeds
