The Melted Moon

by Mary E. Lowd

Watching the moon swirl
Up above the skyline
The whole sky is full
Of melting moonbeams
That make an otter think of flying

If the sky is silvered
Like the water of a stream
Rippling in the moonlight…

Well, an otter can swim
Whether it’s melted moon
Or Earthly water they’re in
