Fireworks on Europa

by Mary E. Lowd

When sunsets become familiar
And even full moons
Happen twelve times a year
You grow used to their splendor

Move farther afield
Let novelty reveal beauty
That repetition endeavors to conceal

As rarity bleeds into familiarity
Even Jupiter hanging in the sky
Can need fireworks
To help catch the eye
