The Flying Cat

by Mary E. Lowd

Isn’t she glorious
As the dawn catches her wings
It lifts my spirits
Just knowing she’s there
—no, not really there—
But I don’t care about reality
Not when she could exist

I’ll cherish the thought of her
She’s an emblem of where
Imagination soars and springs
On feathered wings
