I’ve been feeling kind of lost and directionless lately… and then a friend said to me tonight with a truly bizarre level of matter-of-fact certainty that I should write twelve Otters In Space books. That twelve is the correct length for that series…
And I’m not sure anyone could possibly have said anything better to me. I’ve been outlining Otters In Space’s next phase ever since, and I feel like I finally have a real tether to hold onto again. Something to pull me forward through all the weird transitions happening right now.
I’ve had some real revelations about Otters In Space 5-12 tonight, and what’s really amazing is that I’d never figured them out before. They were right there in front of me — things that simply have to happen in the series, things it has always been working toward.
