I’m rewatching Star Trek: TNG’s “Disaster,” because it seemed like a fun one to help get the seven-year-old hooked on them.
Anyway, it’s making me think that a Tri-Galactic Trek story where Consul Tor ends up in charge of The Initiative would be fun to write.
I really love Counselor Troi in a leadership role.
I LOVE it when Troi snarks Riker.
I love it in a deep and abiding way.
I think, see, Riker is tall and bearded in a way reminiscent of my dad. But he is sooooo damn affable (unlike my dad), & he just takes the snark in a good-natured way. And that makes me feel safe and happy.
The first three seasons of Star Trek: Discovery are kind of a fraught mess… but there are some very bright points, and I absolutely love where they’ve landed heading into season four.
Just sitting here thinking about how the utterly chilling, heartbreaking end of Star Trek: Voyager’s “Tuvix” couldn’t have been done in TNG or DS9. It depends too much on Janeway being the ultimate authority in that little bubble without any admiral or ethics board to appeal to.
“Tuvix” is my favorite episode of Voyager, and it really is a uniquely Voyager episode. Such an incredible work of art.
