A Christmas Movie Christmas & The March Sisters at Christmas

It’s mediocre Christmas movie season!

Starting off with “A Christmas Movie Christmas,” and it’s better than average! (If you haven’t watched a bunch of these things, you may not know where “average” falls.)

One of the three Handsome Man Love Interest Guys in this movie (who is also apparently one of the two writers) has chosen to play his part like a happy dog recently turned into a human, and I am very here for that.

Now for “The March Sisters at Christmas,” and so far, I cannot tell if this movie started life as a Little Women reimagining… or just a script that happened to have several sisters & then someone suggested, “Ooh, if you change their names, it could be branded as March sisters!”

(I’m leaning toward the latter…)

Here’s the thing about mediocre Christmas movies—even when they’re being mediocre, like March Sisters at Christmas right now, it’s still four women passing the Bechdel test, while all the men can only seem to talk about being in love with them.

It helps balance the rest of life.

Overall “The March Sisters at Christmas” had some serious problems, but the acting felt really authentic and charming. It had some really nice moments, and I’m a bit of a sucker for revisiting Little Women, even if it is all twisted around.
