There is heroism in a quiet moment
Of connection, contemplation
Reflection & imagination
Two friends talking
Stalking their way
Through a jungle of ideas
There are no panaceas
But the outside world with all its chaos
Rears its head, insisting instead
You should worry & labor—
But refuse it entry into this seance
Where two minds meet
That’s really all we need
To beat back the surfeit of mayhem
It’s a simple stratagem:
Just keep your heart open
Don’t give in
When called to condemn
A gentle whim
