Lemon Butter Star

Lemon butter star,
Shining from the earth,
Full of flavor,
Full of light,
When we wonder who we are,
What anything is worth,
As least we can savor,

The simple daffodil,

And hold its beauty tight,
Against the pressures of a long, long night.
