In three hours, I get to meet an octopus!
Best thing from the behind-the-scenes tour at the Oregon Coast Aquarium:
When rehabilitating Keiko, star of Free Willy, he could only hold his breath 3 mins instead of 15. So they lured him to stay underwater longer by playing movies. He liked Land Before Time and Monty Python.
I have learned to always bring at least one (possibly several) plush octopuses with me when I go to the aquarium. Because when I leave, I will almost certainly have at least one (possibly several) octopuses with me, so this way, I’m less likely to end up with infinite octopuses.
The octopus I met today was named Beaker. He wasn’t as gregarious as Tiberius who I met last year, but he was still quite friendly.
Meeting octopuses is basically the best thing.
