There’s a new Danica McKellar Christmas movie!!!!
That’s exactly what I need today.
It’s called “Christmas at the Drive-In,” and the first few minutes are exactly what you’d expect.
Uh oh, this movie is moving toward being another “Capitalism saves Christmas from capitalism!” story, and those are basically infuriating.
They’d better decorate some cookies or something else fun and holidayish to distract from this central plot line.
“How do you know the difference between giving up and letting go?”
—Christmas at the Drive-In (2022)
Up next “Girlfriends of Christmas Past,” and it seems to be starting with a Legally Blonde beginning — “You’re breaking up with me? I thought you were going to propose…”
I guess it’s time to get serious. (Song reference, for those who have heard the Legally Blonde musical.)
If you haven’t heard the Legally Blonde musical, YOU SHOULD.
There’s an undercurrent of misogyny in “Girlfriends of Christmas Past” that’s really not in the spirit of the genre of mediocre Christmas movies. Very disappointing.
And now for “The Winter Palace”!
This one’s a Danica McKellar Christmas movie WHERE SHE’S A WRITER!
So far it’s like the opposite of The Shining. Which is excellent. I don’t like The Shining.
Ooh, and now a random prince has shown up at her wish-fulfillment writing retreat.
Oh good, “The Winter Palace” is making a big point about how writers need to carefully read every part of their contracts…
…or else their wish-fulfillment writing retreats might get usurped by the demands of a needy prince.
Well, the first part of that moral is important.
“Pretzel Prince Prances in Streets with Pretty Peasant.”
