As the space-time continuum shatters
The otter pilot ponders
In a moment stretched to forever
About what really matters
Why fly through space?
When you could retrace the steps
Of every normal life before you
Seeking happiness
Instead of success
Letting life be an easygoing recess
An ongoing rhythm
That thrums like a heartbeat
But then a glimpse
Through the shards
Of matter & anti-matter
Time & rewind
Dimensions we know
And something higher
A mere glancing flash
Of an existence
To which we aspire
The otter knows
She will never retire
