I’ve spent a great deal of the last week entirely focused on helping my 15-year-old focus on all the schoolwork they need to get done as the term wraps up… and I’m pretty burnt out.
So, now, it’s time to spend an evening with my mom watching space vampires in Stargate Atlantis.
If I ever wrote a furry sci-fi piece inspired by Stargate Atlantis, I wonder what I’d make the wraith analogues…
Vampire bats? Some kind of insect? Hmm, maybe snakes… I haven’t done much with snakes, and they’re pretty cool.
Sometimes the drive to write a new furry story for me is as simple as, “Ooh, I haven’t written anything about that kind of animal yet!”
One of the big struggles with getting through a week where the kid needs constant help focusing on their schoolwork is that my brain turns to such absolute mush that even when I do have some downtime, I can’t think clearly enough to do any actual writing.
I get really twitchy when I can’t do any writing… However, I have managed to get some AI art illustrations prepared for posting with more of my stories on Deep Sky Anchor while watching Stargate tonight, and that’s at least something of a creative outlet.
