Houseful of Tiny Leopards

Concept: a witch, but the only magic she does involves summoning and keeping familiars. Lots of familiars.

(She is me. I am this witch.)

I am full of contentment for my house is full of tiny leopards.

Our two young Bengals are funny… There’s a language of clicks, trills, and hisses that has worked for communicating with most cats I’ve known, but these two respond better if I talk to them like toddlers. “Hey, stop that!” is way more effective than hissing like a cat at them.

“Let’s be friends,” says puppy-dog to kitty-cat.

“Why do you allow this hideous abomination to exist?” says kitty-cat to me.

In The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, the Vogon captain says:

“Now choose! Either die in the vacuum of space or… tell me how good you thought my poem was.”

I think of this every time I ask Daniel to read the latest words I’ve written on my novel.
