Part of me wants to write a thread about how I’ve gotten completely sucked into The Morning Show and all my thoughts about it…
But what those thoughts really amount to is that watching Anniston & Witherspoon portray these complex women is really personally meaningful for me…
It may be counterintuitive, but in some ways, I feel like I’ve seen my own struggles with various writing communities reflected better in The Morning Show than anywhere else. The specifics, obviously, are wildly different, but… the struggle to matter & the weird silences…
Maybe it’s just getting to see Anniston & Witherspoon’s faces as they absorb everything around them, thinking & feeling furiously on the inside, but knowing they have to filter themselves into something the outside world won’t simply brush aside as hysterical or too dramatic…
Watching Anniston & Witherspoon on The Morning Show—and feeling so much less alone in the world—reminds me of how important my own stories might be to other, younger women.
And instead of writing more about The Morning Show, I should probably just go work on Otters In Space 4…
I will say though, before going back to telling my own stories:
I just desperately want to see Anniston and Witherspoon’s characters on The Morning Show become friends and become ever so much more powerful by working together.
