Time to watch Farscape from the beginning!
I’d forgotten how much my upcoming Entangled Universe trilogy was influenced by Farscape… one human surrounded by colorful aliens, living spaceship who bonds with a pilot… yeah. I loved this show.
I absolutely love the dynamic between Aeryn Sun and John Crichton in Farscape — it’s so very cranky cat and loyal dog. Classic. Just like Chester and Howard in Bunnicula.
There’s an almost cuddly quality to Crichton & Aeryn (Farscape) right from ep 4, even when they’re just dodging weapons fire. It makes me think of bringing a new kitten home & having it immediately latch onto the resident cat — “you’re shaped like me! That feels safe!”
Rewatching Farscape is turning out to be such a good plan.
Surviving the horrible chaos of the real world is much easier with a steady transfusion of the beautiful chaos of Farscape’s space opera world.
