Less than a week home from school and the six-year-old has decided we need a new room in our house — devoted to building robots.
Today, Daniel and I have been together for 19 years. That’s more than half of my life.
We pulled the kids out of school less than a week ago…
This has been one of the longest weeks.
The six-year-old discussing his future: “If I decide I want to quit being a candy man… maybe popsicle man? Ice cream man? There are so many jobs in the world…”
Somehow the kids have invented the idea that on St. Patrick’s Day the leprechauns will bring them… something? They’re not clear on what, and I don’t know where they got this idea. So I’m at a loss as well.
Our sleep schedules are slipping… by summer the kids will be entirely nocturnal.
The kids have left an offering for the leprechauns.
There were plastic coins, a rainbow of counting bears, and mint leaves in the offering, and yes, it would seem that the leprechauns left green envelopes in return with some chocolate inside — one gold coin, two Ghirardelli squares, and seven green m&ms each.
