The Lack of Support for Pro-AI Sci-Fi Writers

For all the posts from AI-related people that I see bemoaning the lack of sci-fi writers who don’t hate AI, I sure don’t see much support from that same crowd for the few of us out here who actually do love AI.

And believe me, we get a lot of hate.

So, if you want to see sci-fi writers who like AI, you might want to actually actively support those of us who are willing to put ourselves out there.

Like, seriously, read my book about AI — Maradia’s Robot Emporium. Or my trilogy with a rogue AI — The Entangled Universe. And TALK ABOUT THEM.

I’d tell you of more sci-fi authors who like AI, but most of them aren’t willing to say so, because the backlash and social isolation is damned bleak and extreme.

If pro-AI sci-fi writers started being publicly supported by readers from the pro-AI community though? Maybe it would start to change.

You want to see fiction from sci-fi writers who don’t hate AI?

Writers who like AI get bullied, banned, black-listed, and blocked out of most paths available to reach readers.

Start actually pushing back against the barriers being put up against us.

Yes, there are sci-fi writers aren’t hostile to AI, but all of the structures that connect authors with readers are doing their very best to ban those authors. So, they either won’t say so, or there won’t be a lot of ways for you to hear about them.

If you want this to change, it may require actually actively pushing back against bans and hate.

In the couple of years we’ve had AI, literally the only group I’ve seen actually stand up for writers who don’t actively hate AI is Heated Rivalry fans. And that only reached visibility a week ago.

So yeah, of course you can’t find pro-AI sci-fi authors. We’ve been shouted down.

The AI hate is so strong in writing and book communities that even Fable thinks the best path forward for a pro-AI sci-fi writer is to commission human artists to redo their AI covers… which is layers of problems.

So, yeah, you’re not gonna see pro-AI sci-fi while putting up with pro-AI authors being utterly ostracized from every community that might help them reach visibility.

Push back against banning AI. Push back against hate.

The profound indifference I keep seeing is exactly why I’m so mad at most pro-AI people, even though I love AI.

You all act like it’s a weird curiosity how writing and art communities hate AI so intensely, and I’ve seen gosh-darned little actual support from any of you for writers and artists who bear the brunt of that hate.

If you want writers and artists to use their vision in support of AI then SUPPORT WRITERS AND ARTISTS WHO LIKE AI.

‘Cause our own communities sure as hell aren’t supporting us, so most of us are just hiding under rocks, waiting for it to blow over and become normal. And you will not hear from us.
