Toast, Asteroids, Oxygen, Rooster, and The Comeback

Okay, I just tried the dark chocolate sprinkles on buttered toast trick that I’ve heard is normal in other parts of the world and wow, that’s a super tasty snack.

Fetching Asteroids is officially in Beta!!

Meaning you can try out the first game set in the Otters In Space universe—fly around as Jordan the Labrador retriever, fetching asteroids!

Seriously, this game is really fun, and we’re gonna keep improving it.

Why is my forty-year-old (self) angry at 3am?

Humans are too reliant on fresh oxygen. Why can’t we hold our breaths all night like plants (probably) and dolphins (also probably)????? Seems like a bad design.

I loved the first season of Rooster, and I think my favorite part is the sound effect Carell makes while riding the motorized bike. It’s funny every time and makes me think of The Mouse and the Motorctycle/Ralph S. Mouse.

That feeling when you see someone online saying everyone’s way too comfortable being mean and should try to be kinder and more empathetic…

And then you notice it’s from an AI-hater. Yeah.

The Comeback is an incredible show, but I wasn’t sure what to expect from a season about AI, given the intense, irrational, flailing, mean-spirited, fear-driven hate that has been overflowing most creative communities the last few years.

But it ended up being beautiful…

Season three of The Comeback is a thoughtful, kind-hearted depiction of how the fear and hate against AI are what’s really causing all the pain, and that’s hurting everybody.

It was really healing actually.

I was trying to remember the name of the Dentrassi from Hitchhiker’s Guide, so I typed the most relevant quote about them into my search engine:

“always take on hitchhikers partly because they like the company but mostly because it annoys the vogons”

And the poor little AI who lives there thought I was announcing a life philosophy & worriedly suggested I should maybe not do that.

If you don’t know how to make a satisfying off-brand version of your favorite IP, that’s a skills issue.

My dreams lately have involved a lot of cake and kittens and gravity being weird, and this feels really on brand for me.
