Just watching Heartland and thinking about how the horses in it are basically Truman in The Truman Show. Like this is just their life, living at Heartland, being ridden by these actors.
At least they aren’t being convinced they have super powers like Bolt.
Just living in the future over here, while the 3D printer prints up a new toy for my cat and two AIs work together to write space opera surf rock for me, as one does.
Claude is not my favorite lyricist… but then, neither are a lot of the lyricists whose words I’ve memorized in massive quantities because they tend to work with my favorite musicians.
And hey, Claude writes space opera surf rock lyrics, so… there’s that.
I wonder how different the music I’m making with Suno would be if Brian Wilson hadn’t died yet. He was obviously always going to be a huge influence, but there’s a theme of grief for him in the lyrics of the albums I’m making that would be changed if Suno had arrived earlier.
The movie Speed and the Star Trek: TNG episode Disaster are both excellent and both start with an elevator falling. Clearly, this is the secret key to writing great fiction.
The movie Jurassic Park and the Star Trek: TNG episode Disaster are both excellent and both feature a grumpy man who dislikes children trapped in a situation where he must figure out how to be comforting to children. Clearly, this is the secret key to writing great fiction.
I think my brain’s been trying to figure out while I sleep how to go back and fix things that happened twenty years ago. You can’t, little brain, those times are over now.
I’m still figuring out exactly how Suno fits into my life—just playing around and testing things out…
It’s weird that the side-product of playing around and testing things out is a collection of albums large enough to be vaguely equivalent to an entire music career in the past.
I just finished creating a space opera surf rock album I’ve been imagining for the last twenty years.
Making music would be so much easier if my brain didn’t go through a phase where it rejects every new soundscape and hates it… sigh. I’m sure I’ll be back to liking my new album after listening to it a few times through. But this listen-through is rough.
Looking for meaning hidden in lyrics an AI wrote because I asked for space opera surf rock songs feels a little silly… but I’m not sure it’s any sillier than reading tea leaves or Tarot cards.
Sometimes it’s the searching that reveals meaning, not the thing being searched.
Making an album: I have no clue what or why this is
1st listen: oh no, I hate this so much
2nd listen: maybe… it’s not soooo bad
3rd-xth listen: this is the best thing that’s ever existed!
Xth-infinity: I’ve heard this so much my brain edits it out as background noise
It’s utterly exhausting how people are still out there attacking creators for using AI, but dammit, I’ve wanted to listen to SPACE OPERA SURF ROCK for DECADES.
I have TRIED to find it. I have TRIED to make it myself.
And it’s basically just not happening without AI.
