Exodus

by Mary E. Lowd

We took our atmosphere
Our biomes full of plants
Animals and mycelial masses
And we ran

Far beyond the reach of our
Exploding star
To a peaceful place
Balanced between two
White dwarfs
Sharing custody
Of our station’s gravity

Now we’re safe
With a double sun
No more need to run
