What’s especially exciting to me about this review is that the reviewer appreciates my main character’s love of stuffed animals.
I love stuffed animals. They continue to function as comfort objects for me, even as an adult, and I don’t see that reflected a lot in fiction.
I’m not diagnosed as autistic, and I didn’t set out to write an autistic character with Clarity.
However, I’m increasingly convinced I’m on the spectrum, and my reliance on stuffed animals as comfort objects seems related to that… which is a trait Clarity shares with me.
