Padme didn’t choose Anakin. She made the best of finding herself the obsessive focus of an extremely powerful and unstable young man who was in a position of power relative to her — assigned to be her bodyguard, with very poor oversight from his own authorities, with them pretty much isolated from anyone who could have helped her. It was safer to love him back than to reject him and see how poorly (and violently) he took it.
That said, I agree with the meme’s point that Obi Wan would obviously be a better choice, if one were actually making choices… Of course, Anakin sets a stunningly low bar by being a deeply violent, murderous fascist.
