My husband and I both got our first Pfizer shots yesterday.
We’ve told the kids that in five weeks, after we’re fully vaccinated, we can go to Fred Meyer, wearing masks, and wander around simply picking out fun things to buy — snacks, toys, whatever.
They are ecstatic.
I don’t think my brain really believed the vaccines existed until I started feeling achy and exhausted in response to my first shot. Words and schedules and first hand accounts from friends and my mom, not to mention being stabbed in the arm, apparently weren’t enough.
