Pond Break

The haunting strains of a jazzy song
Deep in the green water
Where newts belong
Wishing and swishing
Swimming and brimming
With wiggly tails
Of salamanders
Who know the peace
Of life beneath
A glassy roof

Stay awhile
And just look
