The Rosy Maple Moth and Her Tree

by Mary E. Lowd

Tending a tree is harder
In space
But without it
There’d be hardly a trace
Of the movement
The rustle
The natural grace
The connection to Earth
That cannot be replaced
So the rosy maple moth
Brings her tree along with her
And tends to it daily
Gratefully and with ardor
