Stray Notes on Random Christmas Movies

I’m watching A Paris Christmas Waltz and it’s like one pinch each of Strictly Ballroom, American Dreamer, and The Cutting Edge thrown into a standard box mix Hallmark movie for flavor.

Oh, and Matthew Morrison keeps dancing and also had a song.

And now Vincent Rodriguez III (Josh from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend!) is singing in Christmas on Cherry Lane.

This is why you pick the Christmas movies with actors who you know love to sing.

I’m watching Red One, and I feel very, very strongly that the polar bear should have had an artificially deepened voice like the beast in Beauty & the Beast. Very strongly.

A Biltmore Christmas is an absolute standout in the Hallmark Christmas movie genre. I may be biased by the presence of Jonathan Frakes. Even so, it was a lovely little piece of Christmas movie fluff.

Christmas in Notting Hill is also a pretty good Hallmark type Christmas movie. It was definitely working at appealing to fans of Notting Hill and Ted Lasso.

Meet Me Next Christmas is a particularly solid entry in the Hallmark style Christmas movie genre. And if you like Pentatonix, it’s especially worthwhile.

I think A Heidelberg Holiday is my favorite of the Hallmark-type Christmas movies I’ve watched so far this year.

A Sudden Case of Christmas was pretty good too. Whereas Haul Out the Holly and its sequel were… well, trying to convince me to root for an HOA.
