Seeing AI as nothing but a tool for oppression is perhaps the most stunning lack of imagination that has ever plagued a subset of humanity.
But then, I guess that’s the crux of it. AI is a tool operated by imagination, so if yours is lacking, I guess it would seem useless.
Sigh, I mostly try to avoid wasting life and breath on defending something that’s way too big to be denied for long, but it does seem to still be the conversation you get dragged back into if you just want to talk about cool stuff like infinite rabbit stories & sci-fi surf rock.
I guess, basically, I’m tired of having to phrase every single thing I post defensively, because I know that if I actually got paid attention to, I’d be fielding all kinds of hate about AI.
I know because I’ve already done it. I know because I see it happening to others still.
The creative users of AI are gonna come crashing over the world like an unstoppable wave. You can’t yell the ocean into compliance, but you sure can yell a lot while the tide draws back, preparing to crest.
