Tidbits from Winning NaNoWriMo Early

I am a hero today, because I found my mom two AMAZING DOGS. And now she has two DOGS. ‬

Me at the start of #NaNoWriMo: Come on, self, if you just write 2k a day for a few days, you’ll get a good head start!

Me after winning in 24 days: Come on, self, you wrote 2k a day for the last 24 days, we do this forever now!

Also me: I think I’ve been tricked…

My #NaNoWriMo novel is now the fifth longest thing I’ve written!

It just passed up “In a Dog’s World” in length, which was my 2010 NaNo novel, the only other year I’ve won.

An advantage to writing novels faster: it’s nice to be writing about things that I decided interest me a month ago rather than several years ago.‬

Since the Playmobil advent proved such an effective way to motivate myself to write, I got another one for the second half of the novel. Behind the first door was King Reginald — another 1500 words and he gets his crown. ‬
