Perhaps it’s a sign that I’ve been spending too much time trying to win over the Tortollon Seekers in Battle for Azeroth, but I propose a replacement for “Counting your chickens before they’re hatched”:
“Counting your turtles before they make it to the ocean.”
This proposal brought to you by me literally counting the baby turtles as they crawled across the sand, before they got to the ocean… and thus failing to shoot down the vicious seagulls who proceeded to eat them, causing my count to be completely irrelevant.
