• Computer Dog, who barks through the computer during some Zoom meetings, but whom my dog can never seem to locate in our house

Squid Game is basically Cube X The Hunger Games. It’s really well done, but for all its twists & turns, I was actually surprised by how much it colored inside the lines.

Elder Child wants to find some pieces for a new cosplay they’re putting together, so we’re at a thrift store, and the best way I can describe the selection here is that if I wanted to put together a Goa’uld cosplay, I would definitely come back here.

And now the thrift store is RickRolling us. I can’t tell if I love it or hate it here.

I grew up watching The Wonder Years, and it’s kind of magical how the new incarnation is so different and yet manages to feel exactly the same way watching The Wonder Years felt way back then.

They’ve really done a fantastic job with it.

Me: *speaks cryptically of Squid Game, because the eight-year-old is listening*

Eight: “Oh, you mean the robot girl who shoots people in Red Light, Green Light?”

Me: *stares blankly* “How do you know about that???”

Eight, bashfully: “There’s a Roblox game of Squid Game.”

So… I’m just gonna cry every week when I watch Star Trek: Prodigy?

Okay, so, I know Battle for Azeroth came out several years ago, but I only just now played my way up to the first Vision of N’Zoth, and that was absolutely awesome — time shifting faster and slower; black tendrils coming from the sides of the screen as my sanity ebbed… LOVE IT.

The eight-year-old: “We just need to keep exploring science, until science gives us a way to turn into cats!”

I looked forward to starting a new novel all day yesterday, but by the time midnight rolled around and #NaNoWriMo started… I just wanted to sleep.

So, I think I’ll keep to the strategies that have been working for the last year and focus on the books I’ve already started.
