Blueprint for a Daffodil

by Mary E. Lowd

The architecture of the daffodil
Fascinates me

Every curve and contour
So bold and exact

The same every year
From flower to flower
Across the seasons of a life
They grow the same
While we all change

They are memories reborn
Memories relived
New memories made

All in a flower
