I would watch the new Barbie movie solely on the basis of the fact that someone involved decided to use the Beach Boys’ “Fun, Fun, Fun” in the trailer… but just looped it on her having fun, fun, fun rather than ever letting it reach daddy taking her T-Bird away.
That’s AMAZING.

I’m still thinking about just how much it had never occurred to me to simply remove the parts of “Fun, Fun, Fun” where she gets punished and controlled by men for having fun, fun, fun.
It shouldn’t feel this revolutionary. But it does.
