Mother and Daughter

by Mary E. Lowd

Roboticist and robot—
One created the other
From metal circuitry and plastic scraps
Bits of nothing
Raw ingredients
That in her hands
—following a map
Designed in her mind—
Became something more

There’s so much in store
For them to experience together
—as daughter and mother
