Things You Don’t Need to Tell an Author

When my Entangled Universe trilogy came out from Aethon books, a number of people felt the need to pop up and tell me they wouldn’t be buying it, because that publisher only sells through Amazon, and they hated Amazon more than they cared about reading my fiction.

Now people are telling me they won’t read my fiction because of my stance on AI. Okay. No big deal.

Thing is, you don’t need to tell someone when you don’t read them. Not reading an author’s work is kind of the default state. Going out of your way to say it is just kind of rude.

“Ah, I see you spent years of your life writing stories and are now selling them at a loss or giving them away for free, but the way you posted about it reminds me that I HATE something, so I’m going to tell you about that hate.”

Like, seriously, just such a waste of energy.

I’m kind of touchy this week, since I’ve had furries going out of their way to dunk on me, on top of being dropped by my main publisher and getting kicked out of the Furry Writers’ Guild.
