Topic of discussion on tonight’s zoom call: how my writing would be affected if I knew I’d have Keanu Reeves available as a performer.
Answer: I would bother adding a human man into the things I write.
Keanu Reeves would actually make a lovely Irohann (best friend of the protagonist in my new book, Entanglement Bound). But it seems like a shame to cover him up with a bunch of fluffy orange fur. Which is confusing. Because fluffy orange fur is wonderful.
Nothing makes sense.
I would like to watch a movie starring Dan Levy and Keanu Reeves.
Here’s the thing, Keanu Reeves’ face is wonderful to look at, because he’s just so steady, and it’s very grounding and steadying.
Whereas Dan Levy’s face is wonderful to look at, because his face is constantly doing things, and it’s just enthralling. What will his face do next?
So, if Keanu Reeves and Dan Levy were in a movie together, they’d both be wonderful to look, but in very different ways with very opposite energies. And this seems like a good idea. Please make this movie.
If you like that, you’ll probably also like my idea for a romcom about Keanu Reeves falling in love with Robert Downey Jr., ideally made back in the late nineties. That’s it. That’s the idea.
Come to think of it, I think Keanu Reeves/Robert Downey Jr. would work well for similar reasons to Keanu Reeves/Dan Levy — steady, comforting energy vs. fascinating , complex energy. Though, I don’t think the latter should be a romance for age difference reasons.
