My kindle app just informed me that I’m on a reading streak — “You’ve read 173 weeks in a row!” — which mostly just tells me how long I’ve had the kindle app for, as it’s leaving out all the other weeks since I learned to read before that.

There is something so deeply and profoundly depressing about the central premise of Buffy being that she’s constantly saving lives and protecting people… and everyone around her knows that and claims to want to help her… but she still needs a day job to support her sister. OH MY GOD, Boralus has a hedge maze. I LOVE hedge mazes… conceptually. I wanted to grow one as a child. Practically, I don’t have flying yet and am stuck inside a hedge maze.

I hadn’t realized that Boralus could get even worse. It has turned my beloved hedge mazes against me.

I dreamed a Meg Ryan/Tom Hanks movie, and Nate from Ted Lasso played a side character. While dreaming, I thought, “I should post about this, because people love Ted Lasso & might want to watch it for the Nate appearance.”

Writing fiction is… an incredibly free-form activity. You have to make up your own goals or borrow deadlines from markets that may or may not eventually buy your fiction so much of the time.
