Instead of fading away as I’ve grown up, my imaginary friend from childhood has taken on new life, first as a side character in my novels and now moonlighting as a baby-sitter for my daughter’s imaginary friends while she’s in school.
Proof I enjoy playing my new ocarina: I’m choosing to practice playing it instead of listening to the new Owl City album.
I can play themes from Indian Jones and Jurassic Park on my fish ocarina. It’s nice to have a little clay fish who will sing for me.
